    • November Assembly - Motion carried that since PRAASA is in Anaheim in 1980 that we Absorb the cost to GRs by reimbursing those who attend for Registration ($5.00) and mileage over 50 mile radius.

    • Motion carried to have the Forum Coordinator be included In the position of Alternate Delegate.

    1980 May Assembly No motions.

    1981 November

    • That the treasurer provide the funds of $475 to WSO and at the time of the conference provide $200 to the Delegate.
    • Recommend to the Assembly to reimburse the expenses of the Delegate, Alternate Delegate and immediate Past Delegate to the Southwest Regional Assembly in March, 1982 in Las Vegas.
    • That all DRs and voting committee members will be reimbursed $30 for one night's lodging if traveling over 100 miles round trip.
    • To keep 75% of the present balance and contribute $1,500 to WSO and $160 to each of the 5 Intergroups.
    • That Southern California Area elect one Chairman and one Delegate.

    1982 May Committee
    • Contribute $1500 to WSO, with no contributions to Southern California Intergroup Offices (relating to the expiration of Delegate term on 12/31/81).
    • Recommend to the Assembly to purchase a new public address system.
    • Commencing in 1983, schedule two all-day Committee meetings held on the third Saturday of each February and August.
    • Committee's prior resolution authorizing $30 a night per person to Committee members toward lodging for service travel expenses for SCWS meetings is rescinded; $15 a night per person to Committee members toward lodging concerning service travel expenses for SCWS meetings is the maximum allowed to those eligible. To be eligible, distance traveled must be in a 100-mile radius, making it a 200-mile round trip.
    May Assembly
    • Contribute $1,500 to WSO, with no contributions to Southern California Intergroup Offices (relating to the expiration of Delegate term on 12/31/81).

    • Recommend to the May Assembly meeting to move the location of Assembly meetings.
    • Place the names of the committee officers available to attend the March 1983, Pacific Regional Assembly in a hat and draw one name (in place of the Chairman, who cannot attend).

    • Contribute to next Pacific Regional Committee sum enabling its initial fund to be in the sum of $500.
    • Committee recommendation of 2/25/84 accepted (Agoura, Newbury Park, Thousand Oaks, Westlake Village and Simi Valley be included within District 12).

    • Remit $100 to Fullerton Senior Citizens Multi-Service Center to reserve tentative date for '85 SOS, a date in either late January or late March.
    • Recommend to the November Assembly the creation of a new District within Southern California Assembly, District 11.
    • Recommend to the November Assembly, contingent upon the foregoing Committee resolution being adopted by the Assembly, those groups choosing to leave District 10 to enter District 11 may do so.
    November Assembly
    • That SCWS contribute $525 to Equalizing fund.
    • That $200 be allotted to the SCWS Delegate as additional expenses in attending the '85 Conference.
    • That SCWS send to the '85 Southwest Regional Delegates' Meeting its Delegate, Past Delegate, Alternate Delegate and Chairman.
    • That SCWS not participate in the '85 Pacific Regional Meeting due to the distance involved, the expense that would be incurred and the closeness of the meeting date to that of the Southwest Regional Delegates' Meeting.
    • That SCWS proceed with plans for a convention with NCWS.
    • That District 10 be split and that a new District, District 11, be created with boundaries of Bridgeport on the north, the Sierras on the west, the mountains of Inyo Mono Valley on the east and Ridgecrest on the south.
    • That those groups in Ridgecrest, Independence and Lone Pine who choose may withdraw from District 10 to enter District 11, the southerly boundary of District 11 to be Red Mountain and the northerly boundary of District 10 to be the end of Forth Irwin.
    • That SCWS purchase the computer and printer as proposed in the presentation given by Mary Morrison.
    • That $500 be taken from the Oldtimers' Account and $500 be taken from the S.O.S. account, for a total of $1,000 to be sent as a contribution from SCWS to WSO.
    • That $1,000 be transferred from the Oldtimers' Account to the General Fund.
    • That one more (third) ballot for Delegate be taken, with the individual having the majority of votes being elected Delegate.

    1985 February Committee
    • Recommend to the May Assembly for a "Start-up Fund" not to exceed $500. This is an expense account for Joyce Armour and Committee for Joint Conference.
    • Recommend to May Assembly for redistricting of District 39 and the addition of District 40.
    • Recommend to May Assembly for participation in Southwest Regional Service Seminar, November 8-10, 1985 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Greater details to be decided at a later date.

    • Expenses for the State Convention Committee (Southern California Members) be covered as this Committee is sponsored by SCWS and amend including 20 cents a mile, $25. lodging for planning meetings only.

    1989 February Committee

    • Committee decided to send Delegate, Alternate Delegate, Chairman, Past Delegate and 3 to 5 Officers and/or Coordinators depending on location and it will be those who have not gone during the current three-year term. They will be chosen by drawing of the names.
    • Hearing Impaired Pilot Program in Los Angeles beginning May 1989. We will watch this Pilot Program, discuss it and take the hearing impaired issue to the World Service Conference in April '89.
    • Recommend that the Committee decides who goes to PRAASA in the future
    • Funds to Al-Anon Family Group Headquarters, Inc. in New York. Recommend that SCWS send $3,000.

    May Assembly

    • Committee decided that SCWS will send the Delegate, Alternate Delegate, Chairman and the immediate Past Delegate and in addition send 3 to 5 Officers and/or Coordinators each year to PRAASA, the number depending on the location of PRAASA and that all these names be put in the hat excluding only those have have gone to PRAASA during the current three-year term thus enabling all Officers and/or Coordinators to attend PRAASA at least once during the current term.
    • Funds to Al-Anon Family Group Headquarters, Inc. in New York. SCWS send a donation to World Service Headquarters in New York in the amount of $3,000.

    August Committee

    • Regional Service Seminar: An Ad Hoc Committee be the elected Officers and Coordinators and three bids be presented to SCWS.

    November Assembly

    • Bob Lahann named a Southwest Regional Trustee Candidate. Pat Roche named Alternate Southwest Regional Trustee Candidate.
    • Southern California World Service supports an Alateen Directory for the Southern California Area to be published twice a year.
    • Southern California World Service proceeds with checking into bids for a 1991 Regional Service Seminar.
    • Southern California World Service not distribute flyers that carry the wording al-Anon Family Groups except for AFG approved events (according to the world Service list of approved events).
    • SCWS increase the fund we give our Delegate to the World Service Conference from $200 to $350.
    • SCWS pays for our Delegate's expenses at the International Convention in Seattle, 1990.

    • That SCWS recommend to Al-Anon State Convention Planning Committee that the Al-Anon State Convention be every two years rather than every three years.

    • Recommend Assembly consider the possibility of forming a Spanish District.

    • Add on a trial basis for three years, a new district (District 64) comprised of Group Representatives from Spanish-speaking meetings.

    1994 November Assembly

    • That SCWS pay the full amount of the equalized fund ($1200) to send our Delegate to the 1995 World Service Conference.
    • That SCWS adopt the WSC Theme for our area.
    • That the Board of Directors of SCWS of AFG, Inc. be authorized to expend up to $2000 per transaction for the needs of SCWS between assembly meetings. Such expenditures to be reported to the Area at the next subsequent assembly. The authorization for such expenditures by the board be conducted by phone poll with the treasurer to keep a record of the votes on such poll. All expenditures over $2000 must be approved in advance by the assembly.
    • That the treasurer of SCWS of AFG, Inc. be authorized to expend up to $500 per transaction for the needs of SCWS between assembly meetings on his/her own recognizance. Such expenditures to be reported to the area at the next subsequent assembly.
    • That all prior Assembly-approved procedures of SCWS be approved, adopted, and incorporated by this reference as approved procedures for SCWS of AFG, Inc.
    • That Alateen Coordinator title be changed to Alateen Sponsor Coordinator and that Assistant Alateen Coordinator title be changed to Alateen Coordinator.
    • That our Delegate be sent to the 1995 International Convention. Covered expenses to include registration, mileage, meals, and lodging.
